Do I legally need a Gas Safe engineer to fit a gas cooker?
Yes. Any work on gas cookers and hobs in the UK must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer — it’s a legal requirement under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations. Using an unregistered fitter invalidates your home insurance and risks dangerous installations.
How much does a gas cooker installation cost?
Installation is a fixed-price job for most standard cookers. The exact price depends on whether new hose, bayonet or isolation valve work is needed. Call 01865 717734 for a fixed written quote.
Can you convert a cooker from natural gas to LPG?
Many modern cookers can be converted using the manufacturer’s conversion kit. We’ll check your model and carry out the conversion to spec. See also our LPG services page.
Do you service AGAs?
Yes — we service, repair and install gas-fired AGA cookers across Oxfordshire. Our engineers are trained on AGA-specific safety and commissioning procedures.
Do you safely disconnect gas cookers?
Yes — when you’re switching to electric or induction we disconnect and safely cap off the gas supply, and issue paperwork confirming the work for your records and for future property sale.
